Several prestigious awards were presented by 2024 Chamber Chair Gaye Suggett at the Chamber’s Neon Night’s Gala held September 6 at Canterbury Hill Winery that was attended by over 400 people. As part of the Chamber’s Capital Campaign, “Venture Boldly”, two of the community awards were re-named in the donor’s honor. The Civic Service Award is now the Naught Family Award and the Fast Forward Award is now the Scruggs Impact Award for Bob Scruggs and Stephanie Scruggs. Congratulations to this year’s recipients. DJ Drury received the Scruggs Impact Award recognizing his contributions to Jefferson City’s future. His success in businesses including Canterbury Hill Winery, Madison’s Café, Stockman Stoneworks the Simonsen Development and other housing projects is matched by vision to serve his community. He is involved and supports many charitable organizations and fundraisers. Rod Smith received the Naught Family Award for his civic service in Jefferson City. Rod is an icon for service, family and faith. In his career at KRCG, he is not revered only for his reporting on sports, but his humanity and love for the community and the people in Jefferson City. Ann Bax received the William W. Quigg Leadership Award recognizing her outstanding and dedicated service to the community and helping others over time. From using her talents as the executive director of the United Way of Central Missouri, to her personal life and also her church, she truly embodies what it means to give back to our community and help others. |

In addition to the awards, festivities for the evening included a surprise drone show sponsored by Hitachi Energy themed to Neon Nights plus a Gala Prize Give Away that was four tickets to the Taylor Shines Lasor Spectacular at MU CRMU Amphitheater, followed by networking and dancing.
